NeoOffice is an office suite, derived from OpenOffice, that comes with a word processor, a spreadsheet creator, a tool to create presentations, and a vector drawing tool. All of that without needing to run the X11 environment.
It's compatible with Microsoft Office 2007 documents, so you can open, edit, and save changes made to files that come from Microsoft's own office suite. The same goes for Excel files, which can be run thanks to a project from Novell.
NeoOffice also makes use of Mac's spell-checker to check spelling, and Address Book as an information source. The dialog boxes and menus use the Aqua interface from Mac. The relationship of sources used by NeoOffice is the same as the system's.

While the version of OpenOffice for Mac without the X11 environment continues in Alpha state, NeoOffice comes to fill the gap left by this application package.
